Need help with virus protection

Norton Antivirus cancelled my account after I had a complete system restore done and tried to reinstall norton.
What is a good free virus protection and fire wall?

3. I've been using AntiVir for a couple of years

It's nice & small and does what it's supposed to do! Not a resource hog like some can be. The updates may take a while if you have dial-up but, to me it's worth it!

already without any problems and scanned my new/old machine.Seems to be working ok.
