The malware finally got so bad, I had to relearn how to hack my registry
I hadn't poked around in a Windows registry in years, but something called WindUpdates has installed itself on my pooter once a day for a month now, thanks to a brief dalliance with a disease-bearing virtual whore named Kazaa.

I had to create duplicates of four registry keys and one file in the system32 folder posing as a VXD, all of them empty files set to read-only. The files were IDed by AdAware.

There are many others out there, and I may catch other infections, but nothing has been so tenacious as WindUpdates from Kazaa. Whoever made it is a devious pigfucker.

1. Try these detection software. Spybot, Microsoft Antispyware,
Spysweeper. Spysweeper has a 30 Day Trial. *With those two pests, Kazaa and Windupdates first *disable* System Restore then re-run the software. Also run those in Safe Mode, it's will pick up a lot stuff if there.* I'm not sure but, I think WindUpdate is a part of a virus package so run *updated* virus protection again.

Any questions fell free to PM me.

4. This might be a good time to switch to Linux...
I suggest Ubuntu.

It's free, so give it a shot.
