SIMS 2
My daughter (10 yo) plays Sims2 on my laptop but we are unable to get our other computer to recognize the disc. We get the following message "your version of DLA can read files on this disc but you will not be able to edit or add to" and then nothing happens except that it asks us to put the disk in the drive but it already is there. Anyone have a good idea on how we could resolve this?

2. A ton of people have had this problem with Sims 2
As well as a few other problems which are related. What it comes down to is the emulation protection EAGames used with it. It is just an attempt to prevent people from copying the CD/DVD or using copies.

The most common workaround for your specific issue is to disable DLA. Go to My Computer, right-click the drive you are using, then select properties. You should see an option to disable DLA if it is installed, and it seems that it is.

Good luck.
