Memory questions
I need to put in memory, I'm not sure if I nedd to get sdram?, or the pny. My computer is an ibm clone if that tells you anything. Also i have an old computer that fried a couple of years ago, and I'm curious as to whether I can take the memory out of it and put it this one until I can get more.
The old computer was giving me low memory messages before it fried, so I don't know if it would even be worth doing.
Any knowledge?

1. pny is a brand name
Most places that sell memory will have a guide to look up what kind of memory your computer will take.

2. Memory must match up with the CPU and Motherboard.
There are a wide variety of memory packages and speeds, past
and present. You would need to find out what sort of CPU and
Motherboard you have and then search out the memory requirements
for them to figure out whether anything you have now would work
for the purpose at hand. You would also need to be able to identify
the memory modules you have.

3. Go to this website:
http://www.vikingcomponents.com

And use their memory configurator. You can specify your type of system, manufacturer, model, etc. and it will tell you the memory you need.

Alternately, call the manufacturer and ask them. But some of them can get pretty snippy even for calls like that if you're not under warranty.
