Remote Access
Is there some kind of software and some way I can access my dad's computer remotely? He calls me with computer problems and it would help if I could access his computer and just fix it.

1. I've used a few
And the most simple, most secure I have found is Teamviewer. You can set a password on a session by session basis. http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx

PM me if you want to contact a long-time DUer whos computer (including software installation) has been fixed remotely!

2. Thank you very much.
It's so hard dealing with an 85 year old who is basically computer illiterate. I admire him trying and learning as much as he has but trying to troubleshoot is frustrating for both of us.

I'll check that software out and I may private message you.

Thanks again.

3. I also use Teamviewer - works great and is easy to set up for remote control.
I use it to access my office PC, so I can work in my living room. I've used Teamviewer to help family and friends with PC problems.

4. It's expensive from what I see.
Thanks for the info, though.
