2. Go to the top of the forum page (not the main page or a posting page)
In the top left corner, right below "DemocraticUnderground.com," there are options to expand threads or switch to regular fonts.

Try clicking on that.

5. Used the Control/Scroll, however I've now ended up with a Yahoo page
with reduced font, but the page has also narrowed!!

Also noting that on DU, correcting one page using control/scroll doesn't solve the

problem for each page!!

What a stupid time consuming mess!!

Thank you for your help!!

6. Did you change DU fonts?
This was woo's suggestion in post #2.

I honestly don't understand why DU still has this feature as it has led to so many problems. Perhaps it was useful years ago, but modern web browsers have the ability to control text size.

8. Thanks for the response -- I'm back in fair shape now ... but I don't seem to have ...
that notation on my DU for some reason -- ???

Yahoo had an option where I could go to "full page" so that part's fixed --

My suggestion to keyboard makers is to get the control the hell out of the shift area!!

All I was trying to do was hit the + sign -- !!!

Thanks for your assistance -- and caring!!

It's these things that can drive those of us who are computer idiots really nuts!!!

:)

4. I've somewhat fixed it via Control/Scroll -- HOWEVER ....
Edited on Sun Apr-17-11 10:09 AM by defendandprotect
doesn't seem quite right yet --

and below DU all I have are
printer/friend format
e-mail thread
bookmark --
???

Meanwhile the really odd thing is it didn't just change DU -- it's changed my Yahoo page!

Weird!

Thanks for your help!!

WAIT -- YIKES!!! -- Using the Conrol/Scroll seems to have only made things more complicated!!

Now, My Yahoo is smaller but the width of the page has narrowed!!!

And, I'm also finding that although on DU the page hasn't narrowed, when I go from page to

page, EACH pages needs to have the font reduced!!!

WHY do they make these system so ridiculous?

Was using Word Perfect yesterday -- and the forced adjustments that someone thinks are

helpful are just a constant pain in the ass!!!

Thanks if you can figure this out!!

7. I am extremely limited in my scope of how to address
problems such as yours - but when I am on DU, I have found that Control and hitting the equals sign at the same time will make the font size bigger. There is a similar command to make it smaller as well. As well as a third command that will "restore" the size to the initial set up.

Don't know if that can help you or not. But putting it out there in hopes that it will.

9. Hi "truedelphi" -- what are you doing here? When I have a problem I rush in here ...

and to the Lounge shouting HELP!! HELP!! --

and usually they get me straightened out right away --

So I'm guessing that if the problem was hitting control and the + sign --

the remedy may be hitting control and the - sign? Who knows --

I'm fairly straightened out now!!

Also under your computer tools there are various ways under "view" and under

"page" to straightened things out -- all it takes is an hour or two!!!!

:) :) :)

Thanks!!

11. Are you saying that I helped you out?
If so, can you put that in writing to my PM's.

I would love to show any and all appreciation to my 30 something son --that once in a while I understand the workings of these computer thing-ees!

Good to see you too.

My son says, "Mom, you have to stop treating your computer like a plant!" --

13. Control-scroll happens more often than people think.
If it ever happens again, remember this keyboard shortcut: CTRL-0. That's a zero, not a capital 'o'. Control-zero resets zoom functionality to 100% in all browsers I have used.
