I need a list of those boot files you get when booting into safe mode in XP.
(you know, how the files scroll down the screen at 350 mph)

The reason: I've got a few computers that, when installing XP, freeze during installation...
I suspect it's the file AFTER the file that shows on the screen but..of course.. I can't see it.

I'll make it more clear.

Installing XP
Sometimes computer(s) will get through with installation...start up again...get to a point and then lock-up.
I turn off computer...start safe-mode (F8) and computer loads files then locks-up after OR before OR during certain
files are loaded.

If I had a list of the boot files I could see where the trouble starts and go from there.

I COULD use my camera in "Movie-mode" ...film the damn things and make a list that way but I'm to lazy to go to that much trouble. :)

3. If the last file you see
before freeze is mup.sys...that's the last file to load in XP safe mode.

4. You're right...canetoad and (from what I've learned in the past hour, ..
...it has a 80% chance of being low voltage in the power supply.
PLUS...all the systems I've been having trouble with are "Gaming" computers.. (Power hungry expensive, amp eating Video cards)

Well...learn something every day. :)
Damn...seems so obvious now...

5. Speaking from experience...
Run a memory test for at least 24 hours and see if you get any errors.

If you pass that test, you probably have a rail voltage issue (since you mentioned gaming machines). Post a pic of your PSU's description sticker. That should show what amperages are sent down each standard voltage rail.
