How can I alphabetize my bookmarks on Firefox?

I have tried endlessly and unsuccessfully to alphabetize my bookmarks in Firefox. I know that at one time I was able to do it, since my older bookmarks are in alphabetical order.

All my newer ones are at the end of the list, in the order in which I added them.
I have tried a lot of different things, and so far have been unable to get the job done.

Any suggestions?

1. Left click Bookmarks--.>Right click Bookmark this page--Choose "sort by name" in drop down menu

DONE! EZY-PEAZY.


ETA: You can do the same thing for folders saved in bookmarks by left clicking bookmarks, select a foldr to highlight & Right click the folder--> select sort by name in the drop down menu. Done!

2. See. There is the problem. When I click bookmark this page, I do not

the drop down menu that i see on your page.. Is this related to the version of firefox that I have???

3. Using FF 3.6.3 here, you?

Also, did you RIGHT-Click "Bookmark this page" ? As to your question if this is version related, I honestly don't know, I've only been using FF since 3.4. build.

BTW, how are things in Bklyn, I was in Bay Ridge last week for a family event. I do miss living there at times.

ETA: LEFTclick Bookmarks-->>RIGHTclick Bookmark this page-->> LEFT click Sort by name. All folders and individual bookmarks should automatically alphabetize, with the folders on top and the indiv. topics following the last folder.

I am beginning to think that I just have too many bookmarks...

I am going to try to consolidate, and see if that helps.

I am 10 minutes from Bay Ridge...right near Coney Island, in Seagate.

I am Bay Ridge a lot..for shopping and such..Century21 , of course :D

and they have some fantastic restaurants there.

It was delightfully quiet here over the Memorial Day Weekend.

All kinds of stuff going on in and around Coney Island, New amusement park...talk of hirise buildings..etc etc...

6. My apologies, there's an easier way, I was a bit pressed for time earlier and forgot to add it...

Sorting Bookmarks: To quickly sort your bookmarks at any time, go to the Bookmarks menu of Firefox, right-click on any folder name, select 'Sort By Name', and the contents of that folder will be alphabetically sorted by the name of the bookmark, with folders first, and standalone bookmarks below them. To sort all your bookmark folders in the Bookmarks menu itself, go to the Bookmarks menu, select 'Organize Bookmarks', then right-click on the Bookmarks Menu category in the Library box and select 'Sort by Name'.

Wow, Century 21 is stil the "must-go-to" Bay Ridge shopping stop. My ex-wife regularly spent her whole pay check (and half of mine) there, LOL. I was pretty close by, I attended the baptism of my cousin's son at St Ephram's Church (75th & Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and party afterward at the New Corner Restaurant (72nd & 7th) which has been there for a MILLION years and still serves up a pretty decent Italian comfort food menu, it was most enjoyable.

Ahh, Coney Island. Nathan's. Bumper cars, Cyclone, etc... Those were the days. I haven't been there other than a trip to a really good restaurant (at least a year or two ago) somewhere in the Surf Ave vicinity, very close to the Bklyn Cyclones' home field, I can't recall the name but I do remember it was EXCELLENT.

NEW CORNERS!! Haven't been there in years...Love that place.

The restaurant you are referring to...in Coney Island..is Gargiulio's One of the best..and oldest...Italian Restaurants in Brooklyn.
They STILL let you pick a number at the end of the meal.and if that number comes out of the little box..the meal is free.
