anyone experienced with dvd shrink?
Edited on Thu May-27-10 08:31 AM by historian
I have been using dvd shrink and burn image for several yrs now with nary a problem. Now shrink has decided it is not going to include the audio files; not in xp or win 7 pro. I even tried using it in win 7 in xp mode but nothing doing. Any suggestions please? Or even a suggestion of a program similar to shrink?

1. I think this is a common problem
and if you google you may find some complicated work-arounds.

There is another method of straight-out copying DVDs without the compression you can achieve in DVD Shrink. I use this all the time to make iso images and works very well.

1. Get a copy of Deep Burner Free http://www.deepburner.com/ and install it.
2. With the DVD you wish to copy in your optical drive (autoplay off), open deep burner and select New
3. Select Create Data CD/DVD ---next
4. Select No Multisession ---next
5. In the explorer window, find your DVD drive and drag all the files to the Burning window
6. From the left hand column in Burning window select Burn Disc
7. This is the cunning part - you don't actually burn the disc (after all, the original is already in your drive). At the bottom right of the CD burning window is a Save Iso button. Click on this
8. You will be shown a dialogue box with option to name and save. The program will then make your iso
9. When finished close without saving.

Now you have an exact copy of the disc sitting on your hard drive to be burned using any program. I use Deep Burner - when you start off and the Select Project Type dialogue box appears, choose Burn Iso Image.
