Need help with yahoo groups and signing up for DU Panic Room
Ok, I'll try to explain this as best I can. I'm confused, so bear with me.

First of all, I DO NOT have a regular Yahoo email account. I tried years ago, to create one, but just got into some endless loop and gave up. Several days ago I created an account (or joined), whatever, Freecycle.org. I guess most here know what that is. People post free stuff to give away. And I guess Freecycle is actually a Yahoo group.

I joined two groups in my general area. Today I went to Yahoo (not the Freecycle site) to see if the Freecycle login is actually an email account on Yahoo. I logged in to Yahoo mail and I have 141 messages from Freecycle. Ok. So, since no one knows I have a Yahoo email account (or do I?) there wouldn't be any other messages.

So, I got to DU Panic Room by searching Google, because there isn't anywhere on the Yahoo home page to click on "Groups" that I can see.

I had to use my Freecycle/Yahoo?? login to get to the page where one can apply to join DU Panic Room. The instructions say that the above login will be my screen name on Panic Room.

Which seems to mean that I would then have, when I log into Yahoo, 141+++freecycle messages, plus anything from panic room plus any other assorted spam, junk, porn, and maybe messages from friends. <sigh>

So...does one create a DIFFERENT Yahoo account for each purpose? One for regular email, one for freecycle, DU etc??

>>>>>

Please could someone explain this (globally first, if possible, in terms of how my mind works). Does one need a separate account for everything you do on Yahoo, one for friends, one for each group etc,?

Maybe there's a book somewhere..... HELP!! :dunce: :dunce: :nuke:

1. As far as I know you only need one account
I use one Yahoo account for everything: email, Groups, MyYahoo, etc. Yahoo Groups sometimes makes me log in separately using the same ID and password. I am not sure why they do that but it happens.
