Can anyone recommend a computer repair place north Pgh, Pa?
I'm from there & my family lives there but we moved in 1987 so all my contacts are gone.

My cousin has been having all kinds of problems with his computer, and told me he was looking in the Yellow Pages to find someone to diagnose fix it. THAT scares me because there are some less than honest individuals in that business, as there are in every other business, and they really can't afford a scam.

His computer is a bit complex (I suspect) because he is legally blind so there is some software installed that audibly reads text. I think he is also using Windows XP. The only other thing I know about his system is that he has a 36" monitor. He's a smart guy (a psychologist) but not very good with knowledge of a computer. ie: One time his email just stopped working because he didn't know he had to empty the deleted folder once in a while, but had been using the system for several years and didn't ever do that.

They live off of McKnight Road in Northern Pgh. Pa. zip 15237.

If anyone can suggest a reliable repair place it would be GREAT!

1. Try Best Buy or have the Geek Squad...
come to his home. If you have a Computer Renaissance near by they are reputable.

2. Thank you so much. They are really strapped for $$ because
of the meds a transplant patient has to take and I really didn't want them to waste $$ on some scam artist.

4. Another possibility would be to find a small computer repair shop...
that has been around for some time and who belongs to the BBB. Call the BBB about their record. If they have no complaints or have had a complaint or two and they were resolved you might get a better deal. It is never cheap getting a computer fixed unless you know how to do it yourself.

3. The Geek Squad are more sales people than geek people. I would avoid that option
if possible.
