Is there anything more frustrating than replacing a laptop screen?
Because if there is, I don't want to do it. 4 hours to take it apart, 2.5 hours to install the new one and close it up. Wires showing, but it works. Its a MAC but I had the same issue with a Dell laptop. AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I did this as a favor for a friend, and I told her I'd only done it once before. She wants the wires out of sight. I don't want anything more to do with it.

1. Wires out of site? No problem.

No, there is nothing more frustrating that replacing a laptop monitor ... unless it's the fact most people you do it for have no appreciation for just how frustrating it is.

3. I used yellow duct tape on my laptop. And hot glue.
It's an old wreck of a Dell Latitude which I intercepted on its way to the scrapyard and "upgraded" with a solid state hard drive (using a CompactFlash IDE adaper), Linux, and a wireless card.

I wanted one of those nifty netbooks, but I couldn't deal with the small keyboard or the expense, so I made my own.

2. Replacing the hard drive on a Sony is right up there too.
You have to disassemble the case to get at it.

4. The IDE cable came loose on the mobo end ...

... of my laptop. So now instead of a laptop I have a doorstop. I just don't care to take it apart just to plug a cable back in. It's an older laptop and I have been trying to talk myself into getting a new one anyway, so whenever I see a good deal I'll probably get one.
