Do they make digital fax machines?
I currently switched from an analog phone line to the Time Warner digital....( I got the complete package with DVR, Road Runner and phone)

I understand that I won't be able to fax with my old fax unit now since I switched. Do I have to buy a new digital fax machine to fax from home?

1. You could get a fax program
for your computer, no need for a separate machine.

I've used Mighty Fax for years, you can get it here for $20 or try the 30 day trial for free

As to your question, I don't know if you will need a new fax machine, have you tried it with the old one?

3. Tried that, but you really also need a dedicated fax in an office
To do everything on the computer you also need a scanner and then it becomes two steps for every outgoing fax. Scan - then fax, scan then fax. Pain in the boopkis.

4. You can do it but
you need a digital line converter.
The best method of connecting at this point is using a "PBX adapter" sometimes called a "Digital Line Converter". The latter name is technically incorrect since it doesn't convert digital to analog, but just converts an existing analog signal on four wires into an analog signal on two wires that's usable by a modem or fax machine.
