weird problem with WinXP and WinAmp
Edited on Wed Mar-02-05 04:42 AM by lazarus
I've got XP set up with three different users. My wife and I each have admin functionality, while my daughter doesn't.

WinAmp runs fine on my login, and my wife's.

But for some reason, it crashes after a few seconds on my daughter's login.

Right before it goes, WinAmp changes appearance to a Windows XP theme, too. Weird.

Oh, and it used to work just fine.

1. I had the same problem with one of my 2 log-ins.
Not sure of the reason but I uninstalled Winamp (also got rid of all referances in the registry), went to Microsoft site and installed winamp 10 and everything works fine.
Don't know for sure if this will help but won't hurt to try...

3. MMM...seems like the skins would be saved in a separate folder.
..maybe you could save them in a folder for later use.

Oh..one other thing you might try...instead of using the executable file that's screwed up, use the executable one that works.
If it does, than just make a shortcut to your desktop.

I say this cause I dual boot my computer. Sometimes instead of installing a program on both drives I'll just install it on one and the place a shortcut on both desktops.
