Please help plcdude with a computer problem
He's lost his donor star, so I offered to post here for him. He says: "I have had a problem with pop up advertising viruses on my computer and IE has a new tools line and I can't get rid of that either. I suspect I have acquired some malware like spybot@mxt. Anyone know how I can clean that off my machine?"

Any constructive suggestions?

2. Spybot is a good program...
As is Ad-Aware. http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

Though I've personally had better results than either of those with Superantispyware.

I'd start by turning off system restore first.

Then download, install and run CCleaner to clean out all cached temp files. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

Next download, install, update and run superantispyware.

Same question: all these programs are free, correct?
