Why are the yellow "mark" X's keep showing up as I check out

Why are the yellow "mark" X's keep showing up as I check out
the things I read on DU. I keep hitting "mark" again to remove them and sure enough, they are back in a short time. I'm doing the "mark" from the top of the page, do I have to go elsewhere? I never hit mark in my whole time here. I don't work well w/the yellow X's.

If you go to the latest page, on the right below the forums you'll see a red post from the admins.
