Desperate, frustrated, (Bitter??) I just want to make a cable....

I just want to make 5-pin mini din cables. I know where to find the plugs that would go onto the ends of the cable but does anyone know where I'd find the cable itself? Like 100+ ft spools? My electronics project is chugging along, I'm almost finished, circuit board is finished, the software application is finished, the firmware works, etc., just a few bugs and kinks to fix.

I know this is not exactly a computer support question, but this is the closest group I can find on the DU.

If anyone knows of another site I can go to for electronics questions I'd greatly appreciate it.

In the meantime I'm sure there are people who may know something about this...

Thus stems my frustration.

I need to make my own. I'll probably hardwire one end into my own hardware and they'll need to be a lot longer than these.

HSC looks pretty close to what I need. I guess their prices are about what I'd expect.

I found something on eBay which was almost perfect too, but the wire was white and my connector ends are black. The price was practically nothing though so I might look for white connector ends.

This is really just a hobby but I feel like I'm doing business work on the weekends, since of course I hope this does become a business sometime. There are so many things to learn. It's weird creating an entire product from start to finish. More people should try it and start buying from individuals and small companies.

Regarding HSC, I don't know what their mail-order biz is like (wrt shipping costs) but if you find it to be excessive, one of their stores is in my town and I wouldn't mind picking up what you need and sending it for cost - I go there often anyway. PM me if so. :hi:
