Babysitter called me at work because son said "Hi!"
My husband usually watches our 6-month-old son during the day, but he picked up some work, so Garrison's with our trusty sitter.

My husband and I were joking that today would be the day that Garrison starts to crawl, since neither of us will be there.

Instead, he starts to talk! He's been saying Hi over and over. I heard him on the phone.

I almost started to cry. Then I said, "Be sure to call back later when he starts to crawl."

My mom says that my first word was "Hello" clear as day.

:)

1. Great!
I remember the thrill when my older son spoke for the first time. Unfortunately, my brain is such a mush these days that now I can't remember what word it was. Think I have it written down though. :)

2. That was my daughter's first word, too.
She had been saying it for awhile, but I thought it was just babbling. Then one day she added a little wave and I though, oh, she is really talking! So exciting!

Yesterday, out of the blue, my 4 yo daughter asked me, "What is the biggest number?" It startled me, I had no idea she was thinking such deep thoughts. She was extremely annoyed by my answer, which was "I don't know." and then "I don't think there is one. They just go on forever."

4. Time to start Garrison's First Words List
Keep a log of all the words he says and at what month, and watch the list grow. Save it for when he gets older!!!

8. Yes. He's still not...
...as serene as he was before, but he's not as impossible as he was when I posted earlier either.

Thanks.

:hi:
