Welcome to the prayer circle!

Please add your requests to this thread through Sunday.
We are still running 10 am and 3 pm EST circles.

BTW - does anyone know how it got to be December already? ;)

1. I can't believe how quickly time is passing.
It doesn't bother me in the sense of reluctantly facing death, but I do feel like I have very little time to grow into my goals. I wasted most of my life, distracted like so many others, and am now regretting it. Committing to our group here is one step to regaining something of what I've lost.

It's amazing what power there is in simple things.

3. Absolutely...AND
I think that anything is possible at any age. I often think of all those artists who didnt start work until they were well into their 60's and 70's (like Grandma Moses)

In my life, i've noticed a series of intersections...i've often been at a point in my life, saw some options, chose one, and didnt make the wisest choice...but it always seems to come back to me so I can take the different path.

:)

4. I like the intersection analogy.
I make, horrible, horrible decisions. Fortunately, I always get whacked for them, and get to learn a lesson or two. :spank:

"Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want." Not sure who said that. :D

A friend of mine describes life as a series of patterns. As we come to understand our patterns, we can change them, and (hopefully) avoid making some of the karmic mistakes that keep us coming back to the same situations, over and over and over again.

I really want to learn, to grow, and to change. But I'm pretty stupid, so it takes a lot! :dunce:

I also think a lot about Grandma Moses. I'm a writer wannabe; finished an unpublishable novel (been sending it out for 4 years now), and am in the middle of one I hope will be better received. At my age, it seems crazy to try to break into such a difficult career, but I feel compelled to put certain ideas on paper, so I keep at it. Hopefully, someone will someday want to read them. :)

You're right, though. It's never too late to change your life. Right this instant, I can change any number of things, just by deciding to do so. I like that about the Universe. Gives one hope.

8. Adding prayers that your writing bears fruit
I've learned a lot from my own creative efforts.

I write some pretty good poetry, but only as a form of catharsis. :)
I'm a photography junkie these days. Especially macro photography. The world at its tiniest fascinates me. :)

17. Thanks!
Microphotography, eh? Sounds cool. I'm also fascinated by the tiny details Nature puts into things. I've felt for a long time that that's her forte; I think she does little things better than big ones. Yeah, a sun is an awesome, powerful thing. But it also serves an obvious purpose, so is rather easily taken for granted. OTOH, what is the purpose of the miniscule, perfect hairs on a fly's leg? I don't know, but they're rather astounding. :) And then there's the whole quark thing. . . .

25. I still..and my family still need all of your prayers !
Remember the loss of my son's former girlfriend. Remember she was murdered and by a crazed gunman. We are still in need of prayer. He is on the edge of the world and I am not far behind. A crazed rebound stalker and no arrests yet. Are we safe? Don't know. Pray ! Our son thought they would always go back together like they have for five years but she got into the wrong crowd and now she is gone from our lives forever. Pray very hard !

22. How are you?
Hope you're getting over the earlier stomach problems.

This is my first Circle in three days that was nearly pain free. :) The pain in my (now absent) teeth has declined enough that the medication now resolves pretty much all of it, except for a vague ghostly ache along the jaw. Was nice to not have to fight that distraction. :D

It's amazing how pain can make us so aware of being, so aware of our bodies. On Thursday after my operation, it was like my entire world had reduced itself to my mouth. (I actually thought that was a rather fitting metaphor.) It's not something I want to continue, of course, but I can see some benefit to my having gone through this.

Anyway, I hope you are doing well. I mentioned to Old Broad that I wouldn't mind seeing a little more conversation among this Group, that maybe we could discuss something of our spiritual paths and experiences together. I for one could use a different focus than the pure politics I normally discuss on this Board--something I'm finding to be increasingly depressing. We might also be able to support each other better that way. My thinking is that, the more we understand different paths, the stronger we get, and the more effective the Circle will be. Just a thought. :)

My 4-year-old grandson has pneumonia. Please send some light and prayers for rest, healing, and a strong, healthy body his way. And some reinforcement for his exhausted care-giver.

Thanks.
