Have you noticed that jars of cherry jelly have disappeared from the store shelves?
Still see cherry preserves or jam which I can't stand but no cherry jelly.

I called Smuckers and asked them why? They didn't really have a good reason for not selling jars of it anymore but they did point me toward their website where it can be ordered in individual servings packages by the case only. Expensive too. But no more jars of cherry jelly.

Anyone else notice this or have any idea why? I always figured that was about their biggest seller? It was the only kind I bought.

What happened?

1. I hadn't noticed...
Maybe the cherry crop was bad this year. You might want to check out your local dollar store or Aldi. They often have imported cherry preserves, which are usually quite good. That Cost Plus (?) chain that has all the international products would be another place to check, if you have one nearby.

2. I use the imported French Bonne Maman brand of cherry preserves
It's available right at my usual market. I haven't bought any in a few weeks, but they had plenty back then.

3. no, but maybe it's just one store?
Pretty sure I've seen it in a number of stores.

5. I buy what I can when I'm in Door County in August. I bring it back for
myself, family members and neighbors. One of the local brands up there has a Cherry Amoretta jelly which is fabulous...
