Another cooking-gadget yearning...
Make fat-free, crispy chips in just a few short minutes with this Mastrad Potato Chip Maker. The microwave potato chip maker is a great way to make homemade potato chips without the hassle. Use this microwave chip maker to make potato, sweet potato, carrot, apple, pear or even mango chips. The potato chip maker comes complete with a small food slicer so you get perfectly even slices every time.

I can see using this to make parsnip, taro and other favorites from the much-craved but too-pricey-and-caloric bag of Terra chips.

Unlikely that I'll splurge for it, but fun to imagine... :)

1. I haven't tried it yet, but a lot of people just wash and use the microwave
turntable "plate". So, I guess all you would need is the slicer. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/potato-chips/detail.aspx

Cooking other vegetables this way sounds really good, too. Mmmm....sweet potatoes :9

I have three sweet potatoes that will likely be experimented with this weekend!

ETA: And I already own a mandoline, so I'm good to go re: slicing. :)

6. Don't worry, I have the scar on the tip of my pinkie finger to remind me to
be careful with a mandoline. ;)

2. Oh, it's only the tray and the slicer!

Here I was thinking it was some sort of special oven just for chips

It's only $20, you could get in a lot more trouble than that with some kitchen playthings...
