1. You know what -- no.
I love quinoa, don't use it nearly enough. But, I don't have any specific recipes, when I use it, I just substitute it for rice in things like the filling for stuffed peppers, a broccoli cheese chicken and rice casserole, that kind of thing.

2. I have tried and tried to make this stuff edible, and I just can't.
I know a lot of people love it, but it just doesn't do it for me at all.

It reminds me of when I just thought I was sooo cool, and ate macrobiotic for awhile.

:hi:

3. WARM QUINOA AND BROCCOLI SALAD (6 servings)

1-1/2 c quinoa
3 c water
1/2 tsp salt
10 oz frozen broccoli

2/3 c (1 large) carrot
3 TBS ginger, peeled & finely chopped
3 TBS vegetable oil
2 TBS seasoned rice vinegar
2 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp sesame oil
3 TBS water
1/3 tsp salt

1. In a sieve rinse quinoa with cold running water, rubbing the grains until the water runs clear. In a 3-q1uart saucepan, combine quinoa, 3 cups water, and 1/2 tsp salt; heat to boiling over high heat. Reduce to low heat. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes until the water is absorbed. Transfer quinoa to a large bowl.

2. Meanwhile, steam broccoli and add to quinoa in a bowl.

3. In a blender combine carrot, ginger, oil, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, 3 TBS water, and 1/4 tsp salt. Puree. Add to quinoa and broccoli. Toss to combine.

* Note: I've added 1/2 lb of steamed snow peas to this and it really works well.
4. Serve warm or at room temperature.

I'm currently obsessed with Quinoa with Basil and Lemon

Here's a link to the google search...These all look great! I've done the Giada recipe and it's wonderful

I always make Quinoa in my rice cooker. It's important to rinse it before you cook it as it has a coating on it that isn't appetizing and makes it bitter.

I use it to make Tabbouleh and Pilafs. It's also great as a Spanish rice alternative. I cook it with tomatoes and onions right in the rice cooker...Throw in some peas and sometimes a little corn and I'm good to go.

6. Since I'm now off wheat, I use it in tabboule

It's actually quite good when mixed with olive oil, lemon and mint while still warm and with chopped onion, cuke, and tomato as soon as it's chilled. It simulates the texture of bulgur wheat quite nicely.

As a side dish, it's not terribly pleasant. I'd much rather eat potato or rice. Since it works so well as tabboule, I should think it would work for any sort of a grain based main dish salad.

7. I saute veggies in evo and mix them in,,,,
We like onion, garlic, mushrooms, zucchini, yellow squash, red peppers, kale in any combination sauteed separately then stirred into the cooked quinoa :)

I'm big on cooking once and eating twice AND this reheats nicely in the microwave for tomorrow night.
