Another thing to do with bread dough -> Buttery Italian Garlic Parmesan Herbed Rolls - pan fried
Edited on Tue Feb-22-11 05:42 PM by Lucinda
A local Italian restaurant makes these yummy rolls that sort of drip with butter, parmesan, garlic, & Italian herbs that Bill and I have always talked about trying to make at home.

Tonight we decided to give it a try with little bits of the Ain5 bread dough that was in the fridge. They turned out great. I'm sure that they could be baked also....but we decided to make them like a fry bread.

Anyway, we heated a few inches of oil in a med saucepan - put some regular AP flour on a plate - took out a blob of dough from the fridge and then pinched off pieces of dough (a little smaller than golf balls) and dredged them in the flour - adding just enough flour to make them "unsticky" :P - and then rolled them gently into balls. The balls were then fried until golden brown and tossed in melted butter. We then sprinkled dried garlic, Italain herbs and parmesan over them and tossed some more. Yummmmy.

7. Yes, I did mail them out first thing this morning.
And I do apologize for the delay of a day, but there was absolutely nothing that could have coerced me into walking out my door yesterday morning.

:hi:
