what the heck should I cook for dinner??
the cupboard's pretty bare...

I have some hamburger or mesquite chicken or maybe kielbasa

I have fresh tomatos, carrots and maybe enough lettuce for a salad

tons of cheese of course, eggs and potatos, rice and pasta of various shapes

MAN! I hate the "What's for dinner" game when I'm just no motivated LOL

1. Maybe you aren't hungry
It's hard when you don't feel like eating.

6. Iyain't gunna slap ya ... when we're .... uh .... unmotivated, we often
have these

Una Bella Pizza ... from Il Maniera Sicura's Verdi collection

Safeway's house brand pizzers.

Better than 'acceptable' ... not as good as boboli .... way not as good as homemade

5. looks like you have it figured out.
My last minute options seem to be grilled cheese sandwiches or Welsh Rabbit. (my favorite). Or a cheese souffle.

Gee, can you tell I'm a cheeseaholic?

best

10. With that mix, I'd make a mesquite chicken salad with boboli slices.
Grill the chicken, park it and the diced tomatoes, julienned carrots on a scant bed of lettuce.

Raid the freezer for frozen veg, defrost and scatter on the chicken. Dress in a tomato-honey vinegrette (basalmic vinegar, a touch of honey, a touch of tomato paste, some good oil, celery seeds) and garnish with shredded cheese and maybe half of a hard boiled egg. If I was getting really fancy, I'd make the hard boiled egg into a deviled egg.

Toast the boboli and cut into strips; serve with really good olive oil for dipping.

Go shopping immediately thereafter, not forgetting vegetables.

Sorry this came late; I had a bad DU day yesterday and had pretty much decided to swear off forever, but played games with Mr. P. and that helped a lot.

12. What I would do
Locate a couple of cans of whole tomatoes or a can of spaghetti sauce. (Sometimes I have these stashed in my car!)

put the pasta water on to boil, locate the cheeses in the fridge and determine what you want. And the parmasian.Put them out on the counter. Cut up some fresh herbs - thyme, basil, etc. and set aside.

Look at your meat possibilites. What small compact pieces would go well as a bite with your size of pasta?

If you have sausage break it into little pieces and don't add too much, otherwise beat down youngest male available and comand they break up the meat.

or make small meatballs 1/2 inch out of ground meat. (I won't tell you how to make them at this point)

Brown the meatballs briefly in olive oil,

Take the marinara, let come to a brief boil add in the red wine (about a cup) let simmer. Add whatever veggies you came up with in your search, as long as they aren't root veggies.) And cook long enough to insense the groom and make him hungry.

Remove from heat - give all the wedding party a sneak taste - oh well, is that another party?
