I love King Arthur's blog...
"Have you ever baked something that made you do the Daffy Duck? You know, the cartoon scene where Daffy runs about yelling, “I’m rich, I’m rich, whoop, whoop, yippee, I’m rich!” He’s bouncing around on his head, feet, hands, and rump in a spastic outpouring of sheer joy. Yep, the Daffy Duck.

Not everything we bake here in the kitchen gets us to do the Daffy Duck. Sometimes we do the swoon, the table grip (hold me Ralphie, I’ve died and gone to heaven). Susan Reid’s creations often get me to do the swoon. That woman knows how to cook...."

1. I made some pecan shortbread last night
that came out really not tasting very great. I used this recipe and won't use it again:

The idea you've posted just might be the saving grace for them if I have the energy when I get home tonight.

Thanx! :D

2. Thanks, Tesha!
I'm going to add this link to my blog. I just set up a photo of the ingredients for the 18-Hour Bread from the NY Times and now I need to get in there and mix it up. I love to try recipes recommended by the manufacturer of the raw ingredients. I've had consistently good luck with them, and now you've given me another little piece of luck! :hi:

6. I was really impressed with the cookbook i used
that they put out on baking with whole grains

everything came out and they provided a lot of tips on working with flour for success baking.

It's nice when a company provides real value.

7. If this rotten hot weather ever blows out of here
I want to try their wheat free mix. It looks something like the mix I've already made and stashed in the freezer, waiting for the first cool day. While I don't miss bread, I do miss bread crumbs. I'll probably try bagels and Irish bread, though.

I'll even be hauling out the pasta roller and trying pasta.

However, this stinking weather has to go away first.
