So, is there any such thing as standard sizes for pressure cooker gaskets?

Our Cuisinart is being rendered near uselss by an old gasket. Takes forever to get to pressure. Cuisinart stopped making pressure cookers awhile back and doesn't stock replacement gaskets. Haven't had any luck at Costco or Target.

1. I'm not sure if any old gasket will work or not

even if it's the right size. The sell them specific to the pressure cooker so it's hard to say whether one will work on another or not. To be on the safe side, I would contact Cuisinart to see if they might at least be selling parts for it or if they know who might still stock some. It would scare the bejeesus outta me to try one that might not work properly.

3. The Cusiinart webstore doesn't have it--I checked there months ago

I'm emailing the Small Appliance people. They show a different model than what I have, but there may be interoperability.
