Online vendors for Arborio rice?
I am looking for a source of Arborio rice. I am tired of paying large money for small packages. Trying to get my risotto on. Thanks

2. Thanks sazemisery
I thought I'd query the group in case someone had something right off the top of their head. So many good suggestions here.

3. Calrose rice will work in a pinch
and it's available at many groceries, Oriental markets and <shudder> Wally's.

It's what I used before I had access to mail order via computer.

In fact, the only rice that won't work is brown rice. The starch can't get through the bran in sufficient quantities to sauce up.

5. Thanks Warpy,
that is information I can use. I was gonna try American long grain white rice, but as you say, Calrose is available at the corner store. I have ordered some Italian arborio rice from Amazon, but will give Calrose a shot. Best to all,

Woof

4. Have you looked in the bulk food bins?
Many of our larger stores carry bulk foods--(nuts, candy, flour, rice....even cookies) I get all varieties of rice and beans there for far cheaper than the packaged.
