Mother's Day...What's For Lunch?
We have reservations for 450 between 10:30am and 2:30pm...this about maxes us out. As some of you know the restaurant I manage is a buffet restaurant. The menu is Smoked Prime Rib, hand battered coconut shrimp, grilled salmon, fried chicken, smoked baby back ribs, boneless turkey breast. Sides are whipped sweet potatoes, fresh green beans, creamed corn. Salads potato, basic pasta salad, asparagus balsamic pasta, 3 bean, broccoli bacon, black bean and corn. Desserts are 20 flavors of pie, fruit pizza, marscapone lady finger triffle, cheese cake, fresh fruit, snicker tapioca, and some I'm forgetting. We also have a waffle and omelet bar.

What is your Mother's Day menu?

1. Not quite sure. Going to
a friends for Mother's day and everyone is bringing "a dish to pass".

I'm bringing Hearts of Palm and Artichoke Salad.

Wishing all you Mom's a great Mother's Day!

2. I'm out at my son's house this weekend. He's doing a pork shoulder
on the smoker, my daughter is bringing cole slaw, baked beans and deviled eggs and I'm making German potato salad, refrigerator rolls and banana cake with broiled topping.

3. I'm scared...
the men are in charge of the meal. My husband prefers to cook but my BIL picked up some kind of frozen pasta dishes instead. At least there is good salad involved since my husband is preparing that! He's prepping a make-your-own salad bar kind of thing and a good caesar. His family is the least adventurous group I have ever known so they will find the salads "exotic" lol.

5. Wow, pipoman, what a spread. I'm impressed with the
choices you're offering, and am sure everyone will thoroughly enjoy their Mother's Day brunch/dinner.

I cooked for the family today and we had Italian sausages with peppers & onions, cooked apples, mashed potatoes, green beans, asparagus (from our garden), green salad, biscuits and cornbread, and homemade vanilla ice cream. Everyone has gone home and I'm stuffed. Time to go "set a spell" on the porch with my sudoku puzzles.
