French bread and Ain5 bread pics.
I baked these this morning. The French bread got a little more 'golden' than I wanted but it has a nice crisp outer crust.

The Ain5 has 1 cup of whole wheat flour substituted for 1 cup of white.

I'm really enjoying baking bread and it gets great reviews from my husband too!

2. Those loaves are beautiful. Drooling into my keyboard
here. Do you put it in the freezer or does it last that long in your household? I'll bet it makes wonderful toast.

5. I do freeze the Artisan bread IF I bake
the entire recipe. If not I just keep the dough in the fridge.

The French bread doesn't last long around here. (And there's just 2 of us!)

3. Those look scrumptious!
What kind of glaze did you use on the french ones - egg wash? They are lovely!

4. thanks :) yes, egg wash.
They turned out really nice. I don't know why they didn't rise quite as much as my other loaves though. They're still tasty even so.

The Ain5 is 1/2 and 1/2 white and whole wheat flour.

7. I bought the Ain5 book and strongly recommend it!
Made a cinnamon-raisin loaf yesterday am and an olive bread for dinner. Both were good - but it was hard to stop eating that olive bread. A little butter . . . . yummo.

9. Beautiful loaves.
Think I'll bake bread this weekend. Haven't done that in a couple of weeks.
