I'll be sourdough-ing soon, and want to try pancakes.

3. There is a very good one in Peter Reinhart's "Crust & Crumb"
(hint, hint... (it's a GREAT sourdough & general bread baking book)

I don't have time right now to type it all in but will try to do so over the weekend.

Something that I did for a while was just use a pancake mix (I think it was Krusteaz) and add some sourdough to the mixed batter. Majorly enhanced the flavor... they were delicious. I used a batter-consistency sourdough starter.

4. Thanks! I can only really spring for one more bread book, so when my library

is back up and running (they changed buildings) I'm going to check out the top four or so that I've been drooling over. Reinhart's is definitely on my list.

I found a recipe at wild yeast based on Nancy Silverton's recipe. It looks pretty good. And another one that's a sourdough buttermilk recipe from another site. Sounds good too!
