Any easy, fun Valentine's treat ideas for my students?
I have a class of about 34 college algebra students on Monday and thought it would be fun to bring something. It needs to be something I can make this weekend that won't need refrigeration and can be eaten with their fingers. Cookies, candy, or bars, I guess.

Thanks!

1. How about muffins?
I'm sure you'll get some more ideas. But this recipe looks like fun. We're all kids at heart and like "a surprise inside". Btw, I found this on the net by Googling "Valentine's treat recipe". Three batches sh0uld do it. I might add a dab of store bought pink icing when I make them.

Valentine Strawberry Muffins

1 egg
1 c. milk
1/4 c. salad oil
2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
12 small frozen strawberries, thawed

Beat egg, milk and oil with fork until blended. Mix dry ingredients together. Add to egg mixture. Stir until blended. Batter will be lumpy. Spoon batter into 12 paper lined muffin cups. Fill each 1/3 full. Place thawed strawberry in each cup. Top with enough batter to fill each cup 2/3. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

2. Chocolate-dipped sugar cookies
I used to make my favorite sugar cookie recipe around Valentine's Day. Then as the cookies were cooling, I'd melt a couple of bags of semi-sweet chocolate chips and dip one half of each cookie in the melted chocolate and let cool on wax paper. That way it's finger food without being too messy.

4. OK, you asked for easy
I never heard of this stuff until the other day, when a client who is not in the food business was required to distribute food at a community restaurant show. (my client is a horticultural business)

The person in charge mentioned this stuff called "white trash." She said it is easy easy easy to make. I ran the search term "white trash white chocolate" through Google and came up with quite a long list of recipes. Might want to try that.

My original thought was heart-shaped pretzels dipped in white chocolate with a few red sprinkles.
