1. Just be careful what you're using it for.
Removing the air from a lot of foods encourages the growth of bacteria that are inhibited by the presence of oxygen, clostridium botulinum being one of the nastiest. That's right, folks, the bug that gives you botulism.

Make sure the ingredients are dry or highly acid.

You can store whole grains and whole grain flours at room temperature indefinitely, however, once the oxygen has been removed from the storage container.

I use my food saver canisters for flours, grains and coffee beans.

3. Thanks for a little levity.
The video was posted for a bit beyond what Foodsaver wants folks to know. That's why I posted it. Glad you understood that, lol.

Of course we all know just sucking out air of a container or bag will not keep fresh foods or frozen foods edible - refrigeration or freezing is required. I pretty much figured we all knew that basic premise already.
