Dehydrating Tomatoes
Any good recipes to share? Tips?

I have a dehydrator I bought a couple years ago after tasting the best dried tomatoes ever. The guy that shared a couple of the tomato chips guarded them like a loot bag and never shared his secret recipe. Maybe garlic and parsley for seasoning?

Do you remove the seeds?

Man, they were so good!!

1. What kind of tomatoes were they?

Although it's a pain, I like the little grape tomatoes. Larger up, I would go for the plum tomato, which seems to give you a better flavor than the crap beefsteak tomato (although an UglyRipe would be worth experimenting with).

I've only tried dehydrating tomatoes once or twice and used the grape tomatoes, and got a nice candy-flavored treat from it (because they're a sweet tomato to begin with).

If I just toss raw tomatoes, I mainly use garlic salt and olive oil. Toss in some basil, maybe, but I'm a firm believer in garlic salt for raw tomatoes and for meats like steak.

Sounds yum!

2. Hmm...
I don't know what type of tomatoes I have.
They are grow by my father - he is 88 years old!!
He has been gardening for years and the tomatoes are his life.
The garden is most beautiful black soil...

I have 2 large boxes of tomatoes.
Usually some variation of early girl or big boy - does that sound right?
