Mystery meat
I know, that sounds like a thread title I should be posting in the thrift store finds group, but no, it belongs here.

Turns out I'm kinda dense sometimes, and apparently froze some meat without labeling it. This is now the second "mystery" item I've pulled from the freezer and just could not tell if it was pork or beef. I know I have bought both fairly recently and froze big hunks - so it's either a pork shoulder or some sort of chuck roast, something I would cook or smoke slowly.

So, what's the safest way to play this? I suppose BBQ flavor works equally well for both. Any other ideas? I plan to use it tomorrow, so it can marinade overnight.

1. I should think you could ID it after you thaw it, no?

2. That's apparently what I was thinking when I didn't label it
But alas, no... I'm guessing that since I'm unsure, it's most likely pork, since pork can look like certain cutz of beef. But then, that means that certain cuts of beef can look like pork... lol

Hopefully I can tell after I cook it. Last time this happened, it turned out to be pork.
