Do all commercially packed edamame beans come from China?
I asked at Trader Joe's why they aren't carrying the deeeeeelicious shelled frozen edamame beans any longer, and was told that they were eliminated 'cuz they're from China. Damn. He did say that TJ is trying to find an American source.

Now I've been looking other places for them, and haven't found any anywhere. Is anyone seeing them?

1. I've seen them occasionally at the Asian groceries
here in town, fresh and in the shell. They're a pretty unappetizing proposition before they're shelled and cooked. However, it's about the only way you're going to get them.

The only frozen and shelled or tinned edamame I've seen have come from China or Japan.

3. My local TJ's has them BACK IN STOCK!!!! And the label
is the same as before, but now it says they are from Thailand, IIRC. So I snapped them up.

Shelled AND in the pods.
