Eeps. I let my pan boil dry!
@&^%!

I was steaming an artichoke and it boiled down to just about nothing. I stained my Calphalon! Crap!

Anyone know if there's a way to return its luster?

1. Try Barkeeper's Friend
I don't have any in the house right now so I can't check the label to see if it's recommended for your brand and finish. It's what we use on our All-Clad stainless and it removes most stains fairly well. Use a soft plastic scouring pad to scrub it (again, if Caphalon recommends it.)

I've done that too cooking chokes, but so far only with the cheaper pans.

2. As already suggested .... Bar Keeper's Friend is also the careless cook's
friend. It will work on virtually all metals, but especially on cookware metals like copper and stainless.

Run hot water into your pan untl it warms up. Empty the pan and sprinkle the inside **liberally** with BKF. Maybe two tablespoon's worth. Wet a paper towel and just slightly squeeze it out. You want it very wet. Now fold the towel to a manageable size and wash the bottom of the pan whereever there's evidence of your 'oops'. When done, feel free to use the rest of the BKF solution to wash the rest of the pan inside and out. Finish up by washing as normal to removae any leftover pumice and your pan will be good as new.

4. Detailed instructions!
Yaaaaay!

Thank you so much. I wasn't particularly optimistic about this, but I feel much better now!
