Happy Cats-giving everyone!
What is Cats-giving, you ask?

That's the holiday where the single person who never cooks a turkey decides to cook one just for the cats, and the kitchen smells of turkey all morning long. Little dishes cover the floor with bites of turkey meat and skin. The cats have eaten themselves into overload and they collapse on the nearest bit of carpet they can waddle to.

I takes what's left and divide white and dark meat and make a cassarole and hot sandwich slices - both slathered with wonderful homemade gravy. Now the soup is on from the bones. So I'll have plenty of what I really like as well about Thanksgiving dinner but rarely get anymore, the leftovers!

That's cats-giving and we celebrated today. On Thanksgiving eve I'll bake the usual pie and on Thanksgiving morning I'll make the mashed potatoes and I'll be off to Mom's house.

1. Pot pies
I love to put leftovers into pot pies. Use gravy or thickened broth, frozen baby peas, sauteed mushrooms, boiling onions, bits of cooked bacon, and the meat for the pie. Put in small ovenproof bowls or pans, top with pie crust, and cook at 375 or so in the oven until the crust is nice and flaky and brown and the inside ingredients are steaming hot.

3. Happy Cats-giving to you as well
Your cats are beautiful. :)

My little fussy female tabby has absolutely no interest in people food. Not even poultry, strange girl that she is. Enjoy your holiday.
