Stereotyping and scapegoating from Aravosis AGAIN
Hey,

Because I've found his site to be worthwhile on a daily basis, I've tried to ignore the truly stupid and hateful way he attacks Southerners in general-- accusing "you people" constructions which hold tens of millions of Southerners personally responsible when one idiot says or does something obnoxious. But he's really topped himself this time. Right after the election of Jim Webb might have destroyed some of his hostile stereotypes about Virginia, along come two more opportunities for John to insult us all-- south of the Rappahannock at least:

Either this guy has no clue about the fallacy of misplaced concreteness, or he's just stupidly hateful on purpose. To say that Virginia needs to do soul-searching attributes concreteness to an abstraction. Then he uses another abstraction, "typical Virginian outside NOVA," to attack and insult millions of real, concrete Virginia Democrats who are the majority of voters in places like Hampton Roads or most of the cities of western Virginia.

A lot of the comments take issue with him but at this point I have zero anticipation that he will ever stop this.
