Any suggestions for the best Mac all-in-one color laser?
Lots of reviews say the Brother MFC-9840CDW is at the head of the pack.

I have no first hand experience with Brother products, but I seem to recall they enjoyed rather low marks from serious reviewers. True enough, that was some time ago, and things may have changed. I also thought HP was the top of the heap, but it seems they no longer are, to say nothing of the fact they seem to be in the mode of selling off parts of themselves. They also seem to have abandoned the home office/small office market.

I now find myself confused.

Any comments would be appreciated.

1. I usually check MacWorld
Not sure what you're looking for in an "all-in-one." I like to buy individual components, if possible. Good luck.

2. Our medical office uses brothers laser MFCs and they work great.
I but OEM drums and use refilled / conditioned toner cartridges with extra large capacity. They work well IMO.

Admittedly they wear out eventually but if you run a low volume copy office, they tend last longer than advertised.

I like them and find them to be the best bang for your buck for small offices.

3. We went with the Brother 9970
Seems good so far. For sure, it was easy to set up. I like that it speaks Mac right out of the box.

4. MY main one is the MFC - 8680 DN.
I bought it reconditioned for a song and it is working fine just like the last one which we had for 4 years of hard use before it died. Medical offices get a lot of papers being shuffled and shoveled.
