Camino, Quartz and QuickDraw
Does anybody know if this error message I found on my Console is something I have to do something about? I've never seen it before.

2/25/09 1:40:28 PM Camino<220> Warning once: This application, or a library it uses, is using NSQuickDrawView, which has been deprecated. Apps should cease use of QuickDraw and move to Quartz.

Thanks.

1. I asked exactly this question in October and got no responses
Launching Camino produces a console message. Anybody know anything about this?

I suspect: (1) the message is produced by OS X and reflects the fact that OS X will eventually stop supporting QuickDraw-based rendering; (2) the message results from reliance of the current version of Camino on QuickDraw; and (3) the Camino 2 release should resolve this issue

2. I'm using 1.6.6
What you say makes sense to me that it's just a matter of time and waiting for 2.0.

I just upgraded to Leopard the other day from Tiger. I'm used to keeping Console in the dock and the way I figured all was well under Tiger was if I saw no error messages logged. Leopard is a whole other story. There are tons of messages logged in a day and I don't know what I should take seriously, especially since I never understand them, anyway.

I appreciate your response :hi:

3. Camino 2 beta release is out if you want to try it:

It's about a 16MB download

There's a warning to backup ~/Library/Application Support/Camino/
In my installation, I think they mean ~/Users/MyUserName/Library/Application Support/Camino/
If you're using time machine, you should have various copies available from recent back-ups

I don't rely on Camino, so I'll try this beta

First remark: Yay! Drop-and-drag tab reordering!

Generally the beta release works okay for what I do

4. Yes, it's working better for me than the latest released version
I'd been having a bad issue with Java, but with this beta it's improved significantly.
