On my Safari - 10.4 I have an editorial cartoon that seems to be a backgroundI cannot erase
screenshot after using it to send on to friends.

Tried exploring system folder.

Tried shutting down - tried erasing by selecting all, am flummoxed- hope you can help.

There is the Mac 101 document that will tell you how to change that. It is really easy. Do not worry, you did nothing wrong and your Mac is fine.

4. All fixed - I figured it out
when I checked my system prefs to see if it was lurking in the background choices.

It was not - but it disappeared when I selected my fave. Still don't know how it got there in the first place.

5. If you right click (control-click) an image in your browser one of the
items in the menu is "us image as desktop image." That's probably what happened.
