Just got an iMac for music applications
So I wanted to say "Hi!" I haven't had a Mac since my very first two computers, AGES ago. (First one was a "Mac 512k enhanced" -- anybody remember those?!)

I was having difficulties with music sequencing/recording etc. with my PC, and want eventually to integrate music and video; it was recommended that I start over with a Mac, so here I am! I've got my Kurzweil hooked up through an M-Audio interface, and am just working my way up from Garageband to Logic Express and then to Logic and then what, I don't know. I'm way behind.

Anybody else using their Mac for music?

1. Congratulations, Sparkly. Logic is a very good way to go.
It is about as powerful as one could need.

I'm staying out of DU for the most part these days - the rancor and stupidity took its toll - but I check in the mac area occasionally, and am focused on volunteering for the Obama campaign here in Texas.

I do wish you best of luck on your setup, and if you run into issues or successes, please post here!
all the best,
bprophet :hi:

2. Hey Bongo!!
I didn't know you were a mac & music person, too!! :hi:

I'm still learning. I bought that one-to-one training thing they offer (a great deal, as long as you use it!). They suggest I start with Garageband and then move to Logic, but I keep trying to jump ahead. Then I get confused.

I love how streamlined everything is. I just got Garritan's Steinway plug-in and am getting started with that. Doesn't make my Kurzweil feel like a Steinway, but I get a sense it could sound good in a recording.
