Why is my mac talking to me???
Telling me which page I am on and which letter I am typing?? How do I turn this off?? Have prowled around system prefs and cannot find the solution.

It seems to think I am blind. Where is that control?

MacBook Pro Intel System Tiger

1. Back on again - the Bluetooth turnoff only "worked" because I
had the irritating volume turned way down. This is very annoying.

3. Try going to System Preferences > Universal Access
and turn off VoiceOver.

4. Thanks - I was going nuts
Don't know what triggered it - last I was doing was listening to Thom Hartmann when it kicked on.

This solved it - saved voice mail hell to apple pro --

There are options there that you might find fun.

Try the White on Black option.
