Firefox 2 help please
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 12:31 AM by Nicole
I downloaded the new version from Mozilla tonight. Now my tab browsing won't work right.

I can only open new tabs by going to file & new tab.

When I click on a link it doesn't give me the option of opening a new tab or new window for that matter. It takes me directly to that link.

Anyone else have this problem?

I'm running OS X 10.4.8

Edit: I can also open new tabs by dragging the link to the empty space on the tab bar.

However I've now learned the problem is not just clicking on links & opening them in new tabs.
I can't click anywhere in the window & view source, page info, save as, etc. like I could before. So it's more than a tab problem.

1. Don't know about page info, but for new tabs try this.

Go to View in the menu bar, Toolbars/customize. You should find a New Tab icon there to drag to one of your toolbars. That's what I used in previous versions and apparently it works with 2.0 also.

The only thing I don't like about 2.0 is that so many of my extensions don't work. Particularly the 'Nightly Tester Tools' which made all new extensions compatible with whatever version you installed.

3. Thanks
That worked.

However some of my favorite extensions didn't work so I went back to using version 1.5.7. Which is too bad because I love the increased speed in 2.0. Hopefully I'll be able to use 2.0 before long.

2. Also, under Preferences there's a new 'Tab' page. Try there too.

5. Nicole, I did a search and found a new version of Nightly Tester Tools.

It's a wonderful extension that forces other extensions to work with the new version of Firefox.

Once I installed it, it made all my extensions compatible with 2.0.

Try it, you'll like it: Nightly Tester Tools
