1. Sad, but true!
Not because the new machines aren't great, they are, but because my nine-month old PowerMac dual-core 2.3 is now officially old technology. It still works great, but if I want to use Aperture I'll need to upgrade the sorry-ass nVidia 6600 that came with the box and the only option is a flashed PC card from Strange Dogs.

2. Being retired that means I can't afford the Mac Pro. That sucks.
I am scrambling to afford a Mac Mini Duo.

I like that Leopard will come with virtual desktops. I can't live without them.

Strange Dogs? I've heard of smalldog.com, but not strange dogs.

Lovely

3. Nice but out of my range as well!
Given the huge gap between the iMac and the new Mac Pro, there's a logical place for a more powerful headless Mac, let's hope that Apple fills it. A dual-core Conroe, room for two hard drives, one optical drive, and up to 4Gig of RAM would be a good place to start, that and a real PCI-express slot for a decent graphics card so I could run Aperture.

Strange Dogs can be found at http://strangedogs.proboards40.com/index.cgi?board=sale, the link is for their sale board which has information on how dual-core users like me who didn't upgrade to the better ATI card when we bought our machines can upgrade for a reasonable price, $450 in this case, by using a flashed PC-version of the card.

4. Not sure if they need it. Wouldn't the MacbookPro
fill that gap nicely? He may be leaving that gap for a few quarters will tell them if a mid priced machine is needed.
