1. If you're in Minneapolis
First Tech Computers near 26th and Hennepin.

If you in Portland, The Computer Store near Lloyd Center.

Other than that, I can't help you. :-)

2. Sure. Apple.
Seriously, you're not going to find much variance in the price of new Macs anywhere you go (in each country, etc...). Apple has some fairly strict rules regarding how much resellers are allowed to sell Macs for.

Your nearest Apple Store is probably your best if you are looking for the most knowledgeable sales persons (and custom options). If you're looking for a slightly lower price, I'd go mail order with someone like Zones (http://www.zones.com). Beware of mail order deals that offer more than 20% off new Macs from what everyone else is charging, btw -- it's probably not entirely legit, in my experience.

3. If you don't mind mailorder
look at SmallDog Electronics in Vermont. A friend buys all his Macs there and swears by them.

such as Thom Hartmann.

5. i would recommend refurbs on the Apple Store...
my last two machines, dual 1.8 G5 & MacBook Pro, were refurbs and i have had no problems. they come with the same 1yr warranty that "new" machines come with and they are cheaper.
