is this a mistake? I have an IMac G5 10.3.9

1. Definitely NOT a mistake
Most people love it. It's a big step up from OS10.3.x. Here are some steps to ensure that it goes smoothly:

The author recommends repairing permissions before you start the upgrade. I've always heard that you should repair them both before AND after an upgrade like this (or any software installation really). And, of course, be sure to back everything up.

3. IT IS NOT A MISTAKE! It made my computer faster, seriously
Faster booting, faster user interface. Take the advice from Kenstone.net if you are scared.

4. Don't worry
You may not be computer friendly, but Apple tends to be user friendly. Their updates usually go off easily and without a hitch.
