Dog Killers Released Early

Troy Lee Loney and Steven Lee Paulson, convicted of First Degree Felony Animal Cruelty for shooting a helpless dog with a bow and one arrow, ripping the arrow out and re-shooting the dog ten times, have been released from the Pierce County Jail early due to "budget constraints".

The case, which garnered national publicity and e-mails and calls to the judge from as far away as Finland, brought hundreds of protestors to the courthouse for every hearing and the trial. The judge ordered both men to nine months in jail and community service, and ordered the men to undergo eight to 10 weeks of special mental health treatment for animal abusers before they begin serving their community service. Each man must pay a civil penalty of $1,000 and a $500 crime victim fee and other court costs. Judge Felnagle set a sentencing compliance review hearing for next August, Ashman said.

Nationwide Call for Protest
People, furious with the latest development, have been calling and e-mailing Pasado's Safe Haven, which assisted the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney's office in the investigation by garnering witness statements. We are now launching a nationwide call to the thousands of people in every state in the country to contact the judge in this case to demand Loney & Paulson are put back in jail. We expect the county to be inundated with calls, faxes, letters, and e-mails.

Make Your Voice HEARD!
E-mail Sheriff Paul Pastor, Pierce County Sheriff. Please be polite. Let him know you understand that other criminals were released too, but this was a violent crime. Explain how animal cruelty portends human violence. In the end, the community may spend more on these individuals by releasing them early!

Please do today!!!!!!!
