PETA wants us to take over the Weinermobile.

I know many of you are probably on the PETA mailing list, but I thought I'd post this anyway because of how funny I thought this was.

Dear Activist,

Oscar Mayer, one of the largest sellers of pig flesh in the world, is holding a contest that we want you to enter! Has PETA formed an unholy alliance with a major purveyor of dead, tortured animals? Not at all. Oscar Mayer is letting 20 people use the Wienermobile (a giant hot dog-shaped bus) for one day. We want you to win this contest and then work with us to put the Wienermobile to good use, PETA-style! With a bus this big, there’s no shortage of colorful ways we can use the Wienermobile to tell everyone how bad eating meat is for people and animals.

The contest asks for a 100-word essay on what you would do with the Wienermobile if you win. Please use your creative talents to come up with an idea that would appeal to Oscar Mayer’s judges (so you probably shouldn’t mention animal rights or vegetarianism).

Has anyone seen all the PETA ads on the cable news channels (well, spotted on CNN and MSNBC, I don't watch Fox) for Helpinganimals.com?

The gist of the ad is "buy a pet from a pet store, one dies at the shelter". Quick flashes to puppy mill environments

You have to come up with something that appeals to the Oscar Meyer judges. Then, if you win you can hijack it with a PETA message. :evilgrin:

4. Well, I entered.

Some of the submission was regarding taking my mom to a baseball game in DC, which I'm definitely doing if I win that $5000 (I did say that the rest would go to the animal shelter here in Richmond). You guys can have the weinermobile though....
