I would like to say Thank you to the Vegan/veggie people in this forum.

I posted on here several months ago to ask a few questions about how to cook and entertain my uncle who was visiting Texas, as a recent vegan.

I was amazed at the kindness and generosity that I received here. Amazed only because I have seen so many flame-baited threads regarding vegans/veggies here on DU.

Recently, I have visited some other DU groups, I have found that those groups are not quite as friendly and as welcoming as yours. I have declined posting in some of those groups because it doesn't feel right.

So... I just wanted to say, Thank you for accepting me, I have learned alot from you guys and I feel better educated about animal rights, veggie lifestyles and so on.

Ijust wanted you to all know that.

2. Don't worry about the flames from meat eaters.

People want to eat what they want to eat, and some people want to cling to meat eating and feel anyone who is vegetarian is claiming greater moral purity and they feel judged and get defensive.

Don't take it personally. It's all about them, not you.
